Just around the corner…
The 2013 Newburyport Literary Festival will be here before you know it and what a festival it’s promising to be!
This year we’re honoring Massachusetts’ own, Matthew Quick—author of two acclaimed young adult novels, Sorta Like a Rock Star and Boy 21. Another YA novel, Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock, is due out this August. The movie adaptation of Quick’s adult novel, The Silver Linings Playbook, received eight Oscar nominations, and Dreamworks has just picked up film options for his fifth, as yet unpublished novel, The Good Luck of Right Now.
We will also honor Sue Little, proprietor of Jabberwocky Bookstore. In 2012 Little celebrated forty years as an independent bookseller, no small feat in a market dominated by big chain bookstores. It’s our pleasure to celebrate her dedication to local readers and her many contributions to the Newburyport community.
Add to this a wealth of other authors and poets—Junot Diaz, Lisa Genova, Linda Barnes, Alan Lightman, Charles Coe and Afaa Weaver to name a few. As well as our local family of authors including Andre Dubus, III, Anne Easter Smith, and Rhina Espaillat.
Please join us Friday evening, April 26, for our annual Dinner with the Authors, a chance to mingle with your favorite writers over a delicious buffet dinner. Get your Tickets now
About the Festival

Many individuals and organizations share the vision of the Newburyport Literary Festival.
