“Summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language,” wrote Henry James in The Portrait of a Lady.

And what better way to spend a summer afternoon than writing. About your life, about your family, about imaginary people. Straightforward prose, lyrical prose, jazzy, short-sentence prose, long, ambling paragraphs, or a dream voice–one straight from your imagination.

Come play. Come escape the news. Bring a pencil/pen/paper and your spirited imagination! It’s good to spend a summer afternoon with your creative spirit.

• It will be taught by Vicki Hendrickson, in her home.
• The class will run from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., for eight weeks.
• We will use various texts, complete exercises, and discuss the writing experience.
• I will invite various authors to join us from time to time.
